who’s Nahel?
I'm a French-Tunisian (predominantly 2D) artist.
After obtaining my HND in Computer Arts and Design at City of Glasgow College, I went to study at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design in Dundee. I am currently in my last year and training to specialise in Background design and 2D animation!
I fundamentally believe art should remain an experience free of artificial intelligence, and I am passionate about bringing characters to life through motion, and telling stories. I believe animation can help us keep our respective cultures alive and thriving, as well as promote diversity, which are things I try and develop in my own practice too.
My time at DJCAD has taught me the value that lies within group work - the importance of working together in order to thrive together, and the importance of having fun with your art, too. During my fourth year there, I also benefitted from being mentored by Victoria Watson and Rhona Drummond of the amazing Eyebolls, an animation studio based in Edinburgh.
When it comes to my work, some of my main inspirations are Kim Jung Gi, Eliza Ivanova, Jamie Hewlett, Moebius/Jean Giraud, Axel Digoix… If you want to get to know me better, chat over coffee to talk about any idea or work opportunity you may have that could be of interest to me then please use my contact form!
